Autopsy: Volume II is a split release containing the artists House Of The Lie, Shrike Totem and Wilt. It is the second split release in a planned series. As with many Peacock Window releases, it explores areas of dark ambient, power electronics, noise and other related sub-genres, as well as featuring new and previously unheard tracks from musicians affiliated with other PW projects.
House Of The Lie (Ben Roe Jr. of Caulbearer) returns to the Autopsy series with a tensely sparse entry. The musical nightmare paints a portrait of claustrophobia under the ever-glaring gaze of a watchful entity (that may or may not wish the listener well), and could be the accompaniment to a film that does not yet exist as well as an un-musical treatise on the constant effects of social media bombardment and Big Brother's unseen dominance in our lives. Your every move and thought will continually be detected, processed, cataloged and re-purposed to be spat back out at you as you continue to falsely believe your actions and intentions are of your own design under the sway of the "Glass-Eyed Messiah."
Shrike Totem is Autopsy Volume II's second offering, and is the new project of Cody Drasser (Caulbearer, Afterbirth). The musical output with Shrike Totem is primarily focused on obscure sound sources and a less refined methodology, favoring an intuitive approach rather than one of over-intellectualizing each sound. The resultant efforts display a raw attack that is immediate and ominous, inspired by gloomy and subdued power electronics and other gritty sub-genre types. "The Scraping Floor" is a junk noise hallucination populated with ghostly, disembodied voices, pummeling background machinery, deep bass frequency vibrations and a not-so-out-of-place melody that threads its way throughout the torturous machinations that is the track's irresistible and deathly anchor. Multiple albums of this project are in the works, so keep an eye out! Listen to another Shrike Totem track here, on the compilation "The Abyss Within":

Wilt, one of North America's longest running and innovative dark ambient/noise/experimental acts, rounds out Volume II with a controlled descent into a collapsing world of bleak nothingness. Waves of restrained abrasiveness wash over and batter the listener in an unrelenting fashion. Death fires burn uncontrollably. Acrid, cadaveric fumes choke the soul out from its corporeal frame. Humanity and compassion are erased from the universal record book. Technology, progress and insight stops, then vanishes. Extinction of all life is imminent as the unfathomable weight of man's trangressions are levied against itself. The time has come and a debt must be collected. The cosmic clock corrects itself once more but not before total annihilation.
